Enrichment Curriculum
At St Michael’s CE Primary School, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Guided by our vision, Courage to Flourish in the Love of God, we are committed to providing every child with a rich and varied programme of enrichment that helps them discover new interests, develop talents, build confidence and experience success.
Our enrichment curriculum complements the taught curriculum and brings learning to life through a wide range of experiences both within and beyond the school day. Pupils have opportunities to take part in sport, the arts, outdoor learning, leadership, community involvement, cultural experiences and wider life skills.
Enrichment for every child
We see enrichment as an entitlement for every pupil. Across their journey from Nursery to Year 6, children are provided with opportunities to:
- experience the arts, music and performance;
- participate in sport and physical activity;
- explore the natural world and outdoor learning;
- contribute to their school and wider community;
- develop leadership and responsibility;
- encounter different faiths, cultures and communities;
- participate in visits, visitors and wider cultural experiences;
- develop practical life skills and knowledge for the future;
- take part in charitable and social action;
- discover new interests, strengths and talents.
We are committed to making enrichment inclusive and accessible to all pupils. We carefully consider participation and work to remove barriers, particularly for disadvantaged pupils and pupils with SEND, so that every child can fully participate in the wider life of the school.
