SEND
At St. Michael’s, we place equality and inclusion at the heart of everything that we do, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to flourish and achieve their full potential. We embrace the fact that all children are different and have diverse learning needs. We offer high quality, inclusive teaching which enables all children to make the best possible progress in school and feel they are a valued member of the school community.
Our SENDCO is Ms Joyce, who can be contacted through the school office.
The Nest
In alignment with our commitment to embody our school’s Christian values, we have made a courageous decision to utilise a proportion of our SEND funding to establish an inclusive classroom environment. The Nest is our dedicated in-school provision designed for children who require highly personalised learning.
Within The Nest, pupils develop their individual skills while remaining an integral part of the St. Michael’s family. This nurturing environment fosters growth, confidence, and a sense of belonging, empowering each child to flourish in their learning journey.
To further support our commitment to inclusion, we have developed a curriculum specifically tailored to the developmental needs of these pupils. This bespoke curriculum not only addresses their unique learning requirements but also aligns with our overarching vision of enabling every child to experience life in all its fullness. By focusing on individual strengths and areas for growth, we ensure that all pupils in The Nest can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, reinforcing our belief that every child is fearfully and wonderfully made.

Local Offer
Under the Children and Families Bill which becomes law in 2014, Local Authorities are required to publish, and keep under review, information about services that they expect to be available for children and young people with disabilities and Special Educational Needs aged 0-25. This is called the Local Offer. The intention of the Local Offer is to improve choice and transparency for families. It will also be an important resource for professionals in understanding the range of services and provision in the local area.
