Extra Curricular Activities

At St Michael’s, we believe in the importance of a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom. Our extra-curricular activities are designed to engage pupils, enhance their skills, and foster a sense of community. We offer a variety of activities, allowing pupils to explore their interests and develop new talents.

Brass

Our brass lessons provide pupils with the opportunity to learn and play a brass instrument. These lessons are open to KS2 pupils, regardless of prior experience. Under the guidance of a qualified music instructor, pupils focus on technique, rhythm, and musicality. Regular practise sessions help them improve their skills, and pupils will have the chance to showcase their progress in school concerts.

Guitar

Guitar lessons at St Michael’s allow KS2 pupils to explore the world of music through one of the most popular instruments. These lessons are suitable for beginners to advanced players and cover various styles. Pupils will learn chords, strumming patterns, and music theory, enhancing their overall musicianship. Pupils will have the opportunity to perform in school concerts and events.

Choir

Our Choir is a vibrant community where pupils can express themselves through singing. Open to all KS2 pupils with a passion for music, choir members learn a diverse repertoire of songs, from traditional hymns to contemporary pieces. Rehearsals focus on vocal technique, harmony, and performance skills. The choir participates in school and national events, Church services, and local competitions, promoting teamwork and a love for music.

Multi-Sports

The Multi-Sports Club offers pupils the chance to engage in a variety of sports, promoting physical fitness and teamwork. Open to KS1 and KS2 pupils, regardless of skill level, activities include football, basketball, athletics, and more. Sessions are designed to improve skills, coordination, and sportsmanship. Pupils will have the

opportunity to participate in inter-school competitions and friendly matches, encouraging a spirit of healthy competition.

Dodgeball

Dodgeball is a fun and energetic game that encourages teamwork and strategy. This activity is open to Y5 and Y6 pupils who enjoy active play. Participants will learn the rules and strategies of dodgeball while developing their throwing, catching, and dodging skills in a supportive environment.
